I’ve been looking for a new shampoo, and I liked this one, but I’m not convinced that it’s worth the price. It has a very pleasant- but not fruity- scent, like rye bread and herbs. Unlike other Aveda products, it doesn’t contain menthol/peppermint/other drying irritants. It is very thick and emollient, and unlike many conditioning shampoos, doesn’t leave a residual build-up in my very fine, chemically treated blonde hair. The formula contains a lot of keratin, antioxidants, and veg proteins (one of which is derived from quinoa), but how useful are these when they inevitably get rinsed down the drain?

When I used to bleach and color my hair I would always go to an Aveda concept salon. The Damage Remedy system was recommended to me by my stylist to help with the inevitable damage that happens when you process your hair as much as I desired to. I can honestly say that after using this product, I did notice improvement in the health of my hair. So I would recommend it to someone looking for something for that purpose.
